Spotting a Phishing Email

Phishing emails try to trick you into clicking a bad link or giving up your password. Here’s what to look for.

Red Flags

  • Urgent or scary language (‘Your account will be closed!’)
  • Misspelled sender addresses
  • Generic greetings (‘Dear user’)
  • Links that don’t match the official URL

If in doubt, don’t click. Call your IT department.
